Wiz Khalifa to headline spring CampusFest

After months of speculation and rumors, the 2015 Campusfest performer has finally been revealed as Pittsburgh native rapper Wiz Khalifa, with special guests Chevy Woods and DJ Bonics. Clarion University students will be welcoming the Grammy-nominated performer to Tippin Gymnasium Friday, April 24.
“The rumor has been going around for weeks now. The feedback I have heard so far is nothing but positive. Wiz Khalifa is a huge grab for us and we are so excited,” said Campusfest chairwoman Maggie Abrams.

“Voice” winner Pope shines in second night of CampusFest

On her road to country music stardom, up-and-comer Cassadee Pope made a stop at Clarion University on Friday, March 28 as part of this year’s CampusFest lineup.
During the soldout show, Pope sang both of her singles, “Wasting All These Tears” and “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart,” as well as many other tracks from her new album whose subjects ranged from love to divorce to dealing with personal insecurities. She also added a Shania Twain cover, an artist who she has listed as an influence in the country music genre.

CampusFest ticket sales “steady”

Ticket sales started for the upcoming spring CampusFest Tuesday, Feb. 25. Since then, the University Activities Board at Clarion University has seen hundreds of people reserve their tickets for the upcoming three-day festival.
The announcement of this year’s CampusFest came earlier this month with Carley Aquilino, Jamie Lee and Chris Distefano from MTV’s “Girl Code” and “Guy Code” performing on Thursday, March 27, Season 3 winner of “The Voice” Cassadee Pope playing Friday, March 28 and pop-punk band Cartel headlining on Saturday, March 29. All shows will be in the Gemmell Multi-Purpose Room, as opposed to Tippin Gymnasium.
