While fans and critics alike had been speculating for months about the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s supposed pregnancy, nothing was confirmed until this past Sunday, Feb. 4, when Kylie Jenner announced the birth of her healthy baby girl.
Jenner announced the good news herself, posting a statement gushing on her various social media accounts.
According to the makeup mogul, she chose to keep her pregnancy a secret and “prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free and healthy way I knew how.”
In an episode of her new show, “Life of Kylie,” Jenner admitted to wishing for a life more out of the public eye, and due to the secrecy surrounding her pregnancy, we can only assume that she is choosing now to start that lifestyle.
Along with her written statement on social media, Jenner also released a short video, showcasing snippets from the past nine months.
The video, entitled “To Our Daughter”, included images and clips of Jenner throughout her pregnancy, as well as clips of the birth of the baby girl.
Friends and family members also appeared in the video, speaking about their feelings surrounding the pregnancy.
“When you’re 20 years old you’re just figuring out your life. You don’t know what you want. You’re an indecisive teenager and you’re just becoming an adult. And there was one thing that your mom knew for sure; and that was you,” Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods gushed in the video.
This alone was enough to make fans lose it on social media.
“If you think I’m going to take the time to watch the 11-minute video on Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy you are absolutely right. I have popcorn in the microwave as we speak,” one fan tweeted.
So many people were tweeting about Jenner and her exciting announcement that the numbers rivaled even that of the Superbowl. According to an article on Metro UK, Jenner’s baby reveal received 1,616,427 social engagements.
The Superbowl only racked up about 1,073,672 and Justin Timberlake, the performer at last weekend’s Superbowl halftime show, only received 329,839 social engagements.
Amidst the already growing popularity of Jenner’s newborn baby, there was one more thing fans wanted to know.
The new mom made fans wait for it, posting the first picture of the baby girl days after the announcement of her birth.
The little girl, named Stormi Webster, has already begun gathering fans of her own.
“I can’t stop looking at this baby. And I also can’t stop crying. She’s so so cute,” a fan posted on the Instagram snap of the baby girl.
While Jenner’s boyfriend and baby-daddy’s stage name is Travis Scott, his full name is actually Jacques Webster, the name which Jenner and her man chose to give their new bundle of joy.
While Jenner and her squad have been ‘mum’s the word’ for the past few months, they are all beginning to break the silence.
Mom of the Kardashian-Jenner clan and grandmother of the newest little member said it best: “We are blessed beyond belief.”
