CLARION, Pa.- Come Together Clarion is set to bring the Clarion County community together for its annual celebration April 29.
The event will take place on 6th Avenue and will feature various organizations from the university and community.
Activities will include a 5K race, awards, craft tables, community advocacy tables and family friendly activities for children and parents alike. After the day of activities, individuals from the community who helped to make the community better will be presented and recognized with the Neighborhood Star Awards.
The event will also feature a community quilt project that has been a part of Come Together Clarion “for years” and is a “point of pride” for the event, according to the Clarion University website.
The different squares in the quilt “will be on site at Come Together 2017, and families and community members will be able to decorate and color them.”
Come Together Clarion is currently looking for artists to contribute to the 2018 quilt.
Many organizations throughout the community help to make Come Together Clarion happen, including the school districts of Clarion County, the Clarion County Offices, the Clarion Borough Office and many social service agencies around the country.
Clarion University organizations also work to make Come Together Clarion a reality, including Student Senate, the Center for Leadership and Involvement, the Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement, the Good Neighbor Program and Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Organizations in the community or on Clarion University’s campus who wish to assist in helping to stage Come Together Clarion or participate in the event are encouraged to email email@example.com.
