After its win against University of Pittsburgh Johnstown, Clarion picked up a second straight win against Edinboro University in comeback style.

In the first game of its doubleheader on April 12, Clarion claimed a 5-4 victory over the Fighting Scots before dropping the second game, 5-2.

The Golden Eagles soared to the early lead with Taylor Nonnenberg’s RBI single in the second inning that brought Haley Pszyk across the plate.

Edinboro wouldn’t be down long, however.

Though the game did get quiet for a little bit, Edinboro banged out two runs in the fifth inning.

In Clarion’s half of the fifth inning, Brigid Stermel singled, which brought in Nonnenberg to grab one run back, but the Golden Eagles still trailed 3-2.

Finally, in the sixth inning, Clarion made its comeback.

Aryn Boyer gathered an RBI on a groundout to the shortstop that brought Audrey Hummell in to score.

Cassie Daniels scored on an error, and then Natalie Else scored later in the inning to make the score 5-3.

Edinboro only put up one run in the seventh to set the final score of 5-4.

Clarion plays host to Slippery Rock University on April 19.

The SRU date will be a doubleheader with games starting at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Then, Clarion travels to UPJ on April 21 for another doubleheader, and the games begin at the same times.

After that, the Golden Eagles come back home to face-off against Indiana University of Pennsylvania on April 22.

Those games start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
