Women’s golf team takes sixth, looking forward to Mercyhurst

During the weekend of April 7-8, the women’s golf team took on Carnegie Mellon University, Gettysburg College, Point Park University, St. Vincent College and Westminster College at the CMU Spring Shootout at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pa.

The teams played two rounds over the two days.

Clarion scored a 413 in the first round, and a 392 in the second for a total of 805, putting the Golden Eagles in sixth.

Elisabeth Papa led the team with a score of 91 on the first day, and a 93 for the second day.

This gave her a two day total of 184.

Christian Bowshier shot 100 on the first day.

She was able to significantly reduce her score to 91 and led the team on the second day.

Bowshier wasn’t too far behind Papa with a score of 191.

Kyla Hoag started her CMU Shootout with a 108, and cut off nine strokes with a second day score of 99, bringing her grand total to 207.

Last but not least, Clancy Fyock went 114 and 109 consecutively.

The women are off until April 22, where they’ll head off to the Lake View Country Club in North East for the Mercyhurst Invitational.
