Spring into to hot new music

It is now near the end of February which means everyone is ready for sunshine. We are  getting a glimpse of warmer weather, which means it’s time to start cracking the windows and blasting some bright new music. Last year was arguably the one of the best years for music in a long time but 2017 is starting off with quite a bang . Here is a group of artists that are ready to take over your headphones this season.

Bruno Mars is making this year his best friend. After a four-year hiatus from a full studio album, Mars returned in November with the praise record 24K Magic. Fresh from his memorable Grammy performance, Mars is ready to have radios blasting the newest single from the album, That’s What I Like. This 90s-esque jam is dipped in gold and ready to shine with the catchiest lyrics Mars has provided to the world. The singer proves to be quite the romantic with his risky yet almost comedic verses like “Say you want a good time/well here I am baby.” This song is ready to put you in the mood for a perfect rom-com movie or a great music session in the car with friends!

Selena Gomez is BACK, I repeat she is BACK. The pop singer has not only returned to charming the world’s hearts with her beautiful Instagram pictures, but has also returned to the music world. Gomez has not been featured in any new material since the release of Cashmere Cat’s fall single Trust Nobody where she provided vocals back in 2016. This time around, Gomez is taking the music into her own hands and helping promote a new song created with rising dj Kygo. The single called It Ain’t Me shows off a taste of Gomez being a part of the electronic category of music, something that is fresh and original for her. This is the perfect song  playing if you are freshly single for the spring.

Nick Jonas continues to wow fans and become even more mature with his newest single Bom bidi Bom that is for the new Fifty Shades of Grey sequel. The people behind the new blockbuster romantic film thought very carefully with the material being heard in the film. No one expected the movie’s soundtrack to be as good as the first film’s which featured artists like The Weeknd, Sia, Beyonce and Frank Sinatra, but it did. Nick’s contribution toward the record is about to mainstream before you know it. The release of the song blew up on twitter. Nicki Minaj provides a good rap verse that makes the two artists a perfect duo for a song like this. Lyrics like “I’m your Addict/I’m your patient” sure prove it was made to suit the naughty material of the S&M themed movie phenomenon.

Famous pop group Maroon 5 give fans some of its best material since last album V came out in 2014. Besides the successful 2016 single Don’t Wanna Know, the group brings the new song titled Cold featuring Future. The song is sure no romantic ballad that the group is usually known to have fan bop to, but this is the different material that a band like Maroon 5, whose been popular in the industry for 15 years, should be displaying. Repetition of the same ole sound and subject can run in the water of many popular groups and singers, but Adam Levine’s band sure knows how to wow their audience.

Lana Del Rey is the type of artist that sticks with providing fans new music almost every two years and the time has come for her to show the world what ballad she has for us to cry over then fall in love with. For someone who has almost the same slow vintage/cinematic type of sound for every album that she has released, Del Rey still manages to amaze us with her angelic voice in the new single Love. For fans of the singer’s past albums, you will automatically think of her first major album Born to Die, which can be argued as her best material ever when listening to the new slow song. Del Rey will forever be in our hearts as such a classy female figure who we lean towards when we are down. Love is strong and so is her new material.
