CLARION, Pa.- This Christmas season, Student Senate is working with Immaculate Conception Church located on Main Street near McDonalds in Clarion to sponsor Angel Tree gift tags for children in low-income homes. This was made possible in part with the Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement. So far, three children have been selected to be sponsored.
If readers would like to donate to Angel Tree, they can email E.A.Zavinski@eagle.clarion.edu to get started giving local youngsters a festive holiday.
The Clarion Students Association (CSA) is excited to try to bring back the book scholarships students are eligible to receive. Typically, these scholarships are obtainable by participating in the wind machine which blows tickets around for lucky winners to try to grab. CSA plans to continue to have this occur at the book store’s new location.
Wingo, Student Senate’s biannual bingo and chicken wing event, will be occurring this Saturday, Dec. 3. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the event starts at 8. The organizing committee has planned for doubling the buffet to ensure the process goes more smoothly and quickly.
This weekend will also feature a special set of holiday movies in the Clarion University Theater in the Suites on Main North. It will be a mix of children’s films and movies for older audiences for the Christmas spirit.
Shawn Hoke, the director for the Center for Leadership and Involvement, would like to remind that many student organizations still need to re-register on CU Connect. They have widened the contact scope to include all members’ emails who were associated with the organizations that have yet re-register. Students who received an email while an organization is still active are urged to have their respective executive board members to re-register on CU Connect.
On Nov. 30, Clarion University Student Trustee Edward Green was officially sworn into his position in a ceremony at the Clarion County Court House.
