Monday was a typical afternoon for most Clarion University students, but September 19 was anything but that for senior speech pathology major Taylor Eastlick.
Besides the day that she shared her 22nd birthday with her boyfriend, Colton Kennedy, Eastlick will now think of it as the day that her boyfriend proposed to her: in the cutest way possible.
Kennedy and Eastlick have been dating since their senior year of high school at West Shamokin in Rural Valley, Pa.
“I couldn’t imagine anyone better for her than Colton,” says Katlyn Reesman, a close friend of Eastlick’s for 15 years.
Friends of the couple, including Hannah Bupp, Bri Slease and Reesman joined together with Kennedy in planning the big moment.
A plan that Kennedy has had in mind for several weeks, he got to work while Eastlick was in class.
The words painted on the apple, “Taylor will you marry me?” greeted campus comers-and goers as Kennedy patiently awaited next to The Apple for his soon-to-be fiance.
While walking from class, Eastlick was greeted by Bupp, who then escorted her down to the Apple. “When I first saw the Apple, I said to myself, ‘Wait, my name is Taylor,’” said Eastlick.
“My overall feeling was just excitement and pure happiness,” she said. Eastlick is set to graduate this upcoming December and plans to continue on to graduate school while Kennedy will soon be attending the police academy for training.
It’s safe to say that they are the apple of each other’s eyes.
