CLARION, Pa.- The 63rd annual Clarion Autumn Leaf Festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to the Clarion area, begins this Saturday, Sept. 24. For nine days it features a variety of events.
This year’s theme will be “Autumn through the Looking Glass.” Each participating group will decorate its float for the Tournament of Leaves Parade on Oct. 1.
Throughout the week there will be games, rides, food vendors and many special deals at the local Clarion businesses through the area.
On Sept. 24, runners will kick off the festival with the United Way of Clarion County’s 32nd Annual 5K & 10K Race. The Pennsylvania State Old Time Fiddlers Contest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church and The Clarion Psychiatric Center’s Cornhole Tournament at the County Courthouse from 2 to 6 pm. will also highlight Saturday’s festivities.
Sunday will feature a Motorcycle Show and Autorama Cruise In on Main Street from 12 to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 will focus on the Women’s Healthcare of Clarion “Kiddies Parade” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Main Street.
Farmers and Crafters Day, when vendors from all over the area and country come to sell handcrafted goods, is the main event Sept. 30. The Autumn Leaf Festival parade follows on Oct. 1 at noon.
The final day of ALF features an antique tractor show from 12 to 5 p.m. on Main Street and a Junior Olympics games from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Clarion University Memorial Stadium.
