Everyone knows that summer is the season for blockbuster films. Whether you like superheroes, hilarious animals or otherworldly adventures, this blockbuster season has something for everyone!
“Captain America: Civil War” – Superheroes are being pitted against one another, and the battle of the summer is on: Captain American versus Iron Man.
“The Angry Birds Movie” – We’ll find out if mobile games can be adapted for the big screen in the film that reveals just why the birds are so dang angry. It takes us to their island that the green pigs decide to attack.
“Neighbors 2” – The hilarious cast from the predecessor return for a new fight against a sorority, one which is making it hard for Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne to sell their house.
“Alice Through the Looking Glass” – In the sequel to Tim Burton’s breakout remake, Alice travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. It promises to be even more whimsical than the first film.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” – The world of the X-Men continues to expand, and this time around, the group of mutants are forced to deal with the emergence of the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”: Out of the Shadows – Michael Bay is at it again with the live-action turtles. In addition to the already totally rad cast, this film introduces the fan-favorite Casey Jones, as well as Bebop and Rocksteady as the villains.
“The Conjuring 2” – The first film was deemed one of the best recent horror films, and this one probably won’t be any different. The duo of famous paranormal investigators takes on single mother and her daughter, who’s allegedly being haunted by demons.
“Now You See Me 2” – The sequel to the hit magician blockbuster introduces Daniel Radcliffe as a tech prodigy who tricks the Four Horsemen, forcing them to attempt to pull off another massive heist, this time in China.
“Warcraft” – The video game adaptation has been in the works for years, and now it’s finally happening. A human and an orc embark on a journey to bring their races together in order to avoid a war over the land.
“Finding Dory” – It’s been since 2013 that we’ve seen the forgetful fish, Dory. She’s finally back, and this time, she’s trying to find her own parents. It’ll be an unforgettable film! Or, maybe forgettable, in Dory’s case.
“Independence Day”: Resurgence – Twenty years later, and there’s another alien invasion. Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum return for the long-overdue sequel to the 1996 sci-fi flick.
“The Legend of Tarzan” – The live-action retelling of the Disney classic is finally here, and it stars Alexander Skarsgard as the vine-swinging man and Margot Robbie as Jane.
“The Secret Life of Pets” – Just as the title infers, this animated film takes us deep into the lives of normal household pets, showing us what they do all day long when their owners aren’t there.
“Ghostbusters” – Despite backlash for the idea, the 1984 hit is being rebooted, and this time, with an all-star cast of female characters.
“Suicide Squad” – Serving as part of the DC Extended Universe, this film shows how a team of vigilantes was put together to fight crime.
