WWE will look to draw 100,000 people in attendance.
Wrestlemania is a spectacle in itself, but one comes to expect the match card to live up to the hype of the event.
This year, however, due to injuries to top stars such as John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton, the card seems thin, but with that said, one match, whether it goes on last or not, is the true main event of this year’s Wrestlemania, in my opinion.
That match is The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon, with the stipulation of, if S. McMahon wins, he gains control of WWE Monday Night Raw from his father Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
Two weeks ago, V. McMahon added the stipulation that if The Undertaker loses, it will be his last Wrestlemania.
This match has the most buzz surrounding it because it represents something that many of the WWE Universe have been wanting for a long time, change.
If S. McMahon can find a way to conquer The Deadman inside of Hell in a Cell, it will drastically change the landscape that is WWE going forward.
It will not only be played out on the screen, but off screen with S. McMahon returning to the front office of WWE, it could truly reshape WWE.
While on screen, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are known as “The Authority,” but they will no longer be on Raw weekly.
As for the match itself, The Undertaker is the most respected and one of the most beloved wrestlers in the history of WWE.
His accomplishments at Wrestlemania speak for themselves, as he is 22-1 all time with his lone defeat coming at Wrestlemania 30 at the hands of Brock Lesnar.
The Undertaker has defeated many top WWE stars over the years, such as Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Triple H and Randy Orton, so it would be basically impossible for S. McMahon to outlast The Deadman without the help of some outside interference.
Many have been waiting for the debuts of Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson since word came out January 4 that they were signed by WWE, and their expected leader Finn Balor has been posting hints and teasers about their debut. There is no better way to bring them in than at Wrestlemania.
They could have a huge impact as S. McMahon’s guys and help him defeat Undertaker, which would give him control of Raw.
I also expect that during the match, S. McMahon will take a high risk maneuver.
The first reason is because he has made that reputation for himself based upon matches he has competed in before.
The second reason is that this is an all or nothing match, and he has mentioned the fact he is doing this for his kids and his kid’s kids, so with all of that being on the line, he is a desperate man and should do whatever it takes to pull out the victory at Wrestlemania.
I believe he will defeat the Undertaker at this year’s Wrestlemania, which will then lead to brand splitting. This will result in a draft that will take place while The Authority and V. McMahon will move to Smackdown, while S. McMahon remains on Raw and the WWE product that will usher in a new era.
