Ad Club hosts Pirates’ parrot

Clarion, Pa.- Pittsburgh Pirates’ Parrot “flew” to Clarion University on March 24 to join the Advertising Club in hosting “A Pirate’s Night for Me.”

When he first arrived, the Pirates’ Parrot hung around the library and was available for students to hug, high five and for photos.

From there, the Pirates’ Parrot was in the Gemmell Multi-Purpose Room. Students had the opportunity to play a few rounds of corn hole. Anyone who wanted to play was invited to join. Students could play against each other or the Pirates’ Parrot. Winners of the matches were able to win various Pirates prizes.

Aside from competing in corn hole and hanging out and taking selfies with the Pirates Parrot, students were also able to purchase tickets to a Pirates game.

On April 29, the Ad Club is sponsoring its annual trip to PNC Park in Pittsburgh to watch the Pirates play the Reds at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $30, and the price includes a $5 loaded value voucher that is good for food and drink in the park. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Free Shirt Friday t-shirt provided by the Allegheny Health Network.

In order to obtain this special value, tickets must be purchased through the Ad Club no later than March 31. Tickets can be purchased by speaking to an Ad Club member or contacting adviser Dr. Naomi O’Neil at 137 Becker Hall, NONEIL@clarion.edu or (814) 393-2526.

Tickets will be available for pick up on Tuesday, April 26 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in room G72 Becker Hall.
