This past weekend, the Clarion Volleyball team split two PSAC matches.
Friday it was the Golden Eagles picking up a big win against PSAC rival Seton Hill, and then on Saturday they dropped a match versus California to fall to 18-14 on the season, and 14-6 in the PSAC and now sit at third in the PSAC West.

Against the Griffins, McKenzie Biggs led the Golden Eagles with 17 kills, Kaley Pittsley added 61 set assists and Morgan Seybold chipped in with 30 digs in the winning effort.
After the loss, Seton Hill fell to 20-12 on the year and 11-8 in the PSAC West.
In the first set, the Golden Eagles started out strong jumping out to a 19-17 lead and then went on to win the set by a score of 25-17.
The second set went on for a good while as it went far past the normal set score; the Golden Eagles lost a thriller on the set by a score of 34-32.
The third and fourth sets were better for the Golden Eagles as they won the third set by a score of 25-18.
Then in the fourth set, the Golden Eagles had to come from behind when they were down 17-12, but ended up coming back to win the set by a score of 25-23.
The Golden Eagles also had contributions from Taylor Braunagel, who had 16 kills, Gabrielle Olson’s 14 kills and eight blocks, and Abbey Cox who added 13 kills and four blocks.
Also for Clarion, Morgan Herold added 22 digs and Catherine Ferragonio chipped in with 13 digs.
In the second match of the weekend Clarion met rival CalU, who are this season one of the top teams in the conference, beat the Golden Eagles in four sets winning 3-1.
The Golden Eagles were led by Braunagel, who had 20 kills, Leah Vensel with 28 set assists and 12 digs and Seybold had 32 digs, but it wasn’t enough for the Golden Eagles as again they lost a tough match Saturday afternoon to CalU.
With the victory, CalU was able to improve to 14-16 on the year and 12-8 in the PSAC West.
Clarion lost the first two sets of the match 25-22 and 25-16 respectively.
The Golden Eagles were able to turn it around for a while and win the third set by a score of 25-23.
Clarion then went on to lose the final set by a score of 25-22.
The Golden Eagles received contributions from Biggs with 11 kills and four blocks and Olson with nine kills and four blocks.
Also for Clarion, Herold and Ferragonio had 11 digs each during the game.
The Golden Eagles return back to Tippin Gymnasium Nov. 13 to take on Gannon University.
The Clarion volleyball team will next host Mercyhurst, which will conclude the regular season.
PSAC playoffs will begin on November 17th.
