This year provided tons of entertaining, witty Halloween costume ideas, and I’m here to help you out in deciding what you’ll be dressing up as on the spookiest night of the year. From Miley Cyrus to presidential candidates, there should be something for everyone.
Miley Cyrus: She can’t stop, and she won’t stop…changing her outfits at this year’s VMAs on MTV. Almost every time she stepped foot on stage, she was wearing a totally different outfit, and they were all just as controversial as herself. My personal favorite is this: a crop-top shaped like eyes, a skirt in the shape of red lips, knee-high boots, and a bright orange sun-visor. If that’s not a Halloween costume, what is?
Netflix & Chill: Have you ever been asked, “You wanna Netflix and chill tonight?” If so, this could be the costume for you! The ridiculous pickup line of 2015 can be transformed into a simple costume; just wear a shirt that says “Netflix,” and carry around a bag of ice, either real or fake. It’s hilarious and easy.
Dinosaur-fighting Chris Pratt: The hot star of this year’s “Jurassic World” is another easy costume. For most of the film, he wore a button-up collared shirt, a leather vest, dark pants, and boots. Throw on that outfit, splash some water on your face so you look sweaty, and maybe carry around a stuffed dinosaur, and you’re officially sexy. You can even strike his famous dinosaur-fighting pose for better effect.
Emojis: You can choose your favorite emoji from your phone and go as that this year. You can either buy a real emoji costume, or make your own on a shirt. My most-used emoji is usually the smirking face, so I’ll be choosing that one if I decide to go with this fun costume idea.
Presidential candidates: Everyone has been making fun of Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, so what better way to make fun of him than to make him into a costume? You can wear a suit and terrible-looking wig, and scrunch your face like the man himself. If you want to be Hillary Clinton, wear a pants suit and practice your cackle. It’s as easy as that!
Minions: As much as I hate the Minion fad that took over the world yet again, I know I’ll be seeing a lot of them this year.
Purchase some denim overalls—because I don’t know anyone who already owns a pair—and wear a yellow shirt. You can also wear some snow goggles for more effect. It’s yet another simple and popular costume idea for this year.
These are just a few of the fun costume ideas for 2015. Others include the Left Shark from Katy Perry’s Superbowl performance, the is-it-blue-and-black-or-white-and-gold dress, the Tinder dating app, and a slew of new Star Wars characters. No matter what you choose, it’ll be a great Halloween for everyone. Just remember to have fun.
