This past Saturday, the Clarion University Golden Eagles soccer team fell to Kutztown Golden Bears 3-0.
Clarion had a total of 11 shots in the game and four on goal.
Golden Eagle junior midfielder Stephanie Sikora led Clarion with three shots including two on goal.
Clarion junior McKenzie Sheesley also had three shots in the match.
The Golden Eagle freshman net minder Krista Mosi had four saves on a total of 12 shots, while seven of those shots were on goal.
Clarion dropped the game to the Rock by the score of 4-0.
Clarion had a total of eight shots in the match while put on shot on goal.
Sophomore forward Aaliyah Odom had half of those by tallying four shots to lead the Golden Eagles in the loss including the lone shot on goal.
Mosi finished the game with 10 saves while facing a total of 24 shots.
Odom said, “Kutztown was an extremely talented team as well as Slippery Rock, and we just so happened to have fallen to the two great teams.”
She added, “In second half of the (Slippery Rock) game there were just many more opportunities all together for Clarion working it a lot better in the attack.”
The Clarion Golden Eagles’ back-to-back losses this past week now makes the record to 3-10-1 on the season.
When asked about going forward the rest of the season, Odom said, “Hopefully we can finish this season with some wins, but we still have some work to do ahead of us.”
Clarion will look to rebound this weekend when they return to action at Memorial Stadium this Sunday when they face off against Shippensburg at 1 p.m.
