Clarion alumni, former “Clarion Call” editors engaged

Last week, two Clarion University alumni and former editors for The Clarion Call announced their engagement.
Michael Waterloo, 28, and Blayne Sheaffer, 23, started dating in 2012, continuing after both graduated from CUP.
The couple moved to Oregon together to pursue their careers in journalism. However, after several months, they decided to return to their native Pennsylvania and settle in Lancaster where they live with their two dogs.

Waterloo is the son of Robert Waterloo and Tom and Debbie Troupe.
He attended CUP from 2006 – 2013, receiving his bachelor of science in Mass Media Arts and Journalism in 2010 and his masters degree in Journalism in 2013. During that time, Waterloo was a staff member of The Call, serving as sports editor from January 2012 to May 2013. He now works as features editor at Lebanon Daily News.
Sheaffer is the daughter of Jeff and Robbin Hessinger. She attended CUP from 2010 – 2014, receiving her bachelor of science in Mass Media Arts and Journalism. During that time, she served as entertainment editor and then editor-in-chief of The Clarion Call. She now works as the community news editor at the York Daily Record.
The wedding date has not been set.
