Women’s golf finishes ninth over weekend at PSAC Championships

The Clarion Golden Eagles Women’s Golf team finished ninth this weekend at the PSAC Championships.

Senior Ashley Olivier finished 30th in medal play.

The eight other teams that finished ahead of the Golden Eagles were California, Kutztown, Gannon, Mercyhurst, Seton Hill, West Chester, Millersville and East Stroudsburg.

California finished with a final score of 633 and won the team championship.

Kutztown finished second with a score of 642 and Gannon finished third with a score of  651. The final six teams that finished off the bottom of the standings were Mercyhurst finishing with 656. Seton Hill and West Chester finished fifth and sixth.

Seton Hill finished with 660 and West Chester with 664.

Millersville ended the championships with 655,and East Stroudsburg ended with 738.

Clarion came in last place with 741 points.

For Clarion, Oliver finished 30th in medal play.

She had rounds of 85, 87 for a total score of 174. Junior Larissa Roberts finished 39th with rounds of 93, 95 for a total score of 188.

Sophomore Erin Lynch and senior Lindsay Finke also scored for the Golden Eagles.

Lynch finished 40th and Finke finished 41st.

Senior Jillian Love finished 43rd for the Golden Eagles with rounds of 102, 95 for a total score of 197.

Olivier said “This season so far has been the best season in four years. Although I didn’t play as well as I would have hoped each weekend, the memories that I have made with my teammates are ones that I will remember forever.”

The women’s golf team is now finished for the fall season and will return in the spring semester.
