Clarion, Pa.- The Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement is encouraging students to donate food to a county-wide program that is feeding families in need. From Sept. 22-24, students are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items to the ABLE office located in Gemmell 275 in order to help in the cause to restock local pantries and eases the hunger needy families around the and in the area have been feeling.
The real draw to this Food Stock excitement though will be the concluding donation day Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will be given the opportunity to directly donate their food items into a large truck in Gemmell’s performances area hence the question posed in the Sept. 22 issue of CU eDigest: “Can Clarion University stuff a truck full of food?” Teachers and staff are also encouraged to join the students in donating bagged, canned, boxed food items, that are not expired. No beverages are permitted. Can Clarion University donate enough goods to fill a truck? Students have until 2 p.m. on Sept. 25 to donate.
