Clarion women’s track and field add seven new PSAC qualifiers

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The Clarion Golden Eagles women’s track and field added seven new PSAC qualifiers and two previous qualifiers to help better their conference record.
The team came out victorious this past Friday at Slippery Rock’s Dave Labor Invitational.
The seven new qualifiers include senior Megan Toddy, senior Jessica Vitous, freshman Jessica Hamrick, sophomore Kristen Belko, senior Sarah Loughner and freshman Jessica Shomo.
Toddy competed in the 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter runs.
Belko and Vitous performed in the 100-meter hurdles.
Loughner participated in the high jump. Hamrick took part in the pole vault and Shomo in the long jump.
The two previous qualifiers were freshman Courtney Corban and freshman Tatiana Cloud.
Corban took part in the 400-meter dash, while Cloud participated in the 400-meter hurdles.

She beat her previous best time of the season, which was 1:05.54.
Corban won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.98, which was better than her previous time of 59.86.
Toddy didn’t come out on top, but she did finish second and had a good time in her 5,000- meter competition.
She finished with a time of 18:06.60, and she ended up finishing fifth in the 1,500-meter in a time of 4:53.74.
There were also additional 10 top 10 finishers for the Golden Eagles.
Freshman Maria Taylor finished fifth in discus.
Senior Erin White finished sixth in discus, and freshman Lauryn Greggs tied for seventh in the high jump.
“We can continue to bring success to Clarion University until the end of the outdoor season.
