Mariah Carey delivers with Valentine’s Day single

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Songbird Supreme herself is back with yet another ballad that is sure to make that special person in your life swoon. Mariah Carey’s “You’re Mine (Eternal)” proves yet again that she has the ability to produce a classic love song that will propel itself onto Top 40 radio.
Six hours after its release date, the song had already comfortably placed at number 11 on the iTunes charts. Whether the song will become the diva’s 19th No. 1 on the Billboard Charts is yet to be seen. However it seems that it will most certainly have a heavy impact on pop radio in the coming days.
The tune enters the Carey songbook with a piano riff reminiscent of another R&B success, Alicia Keys “Like You’ll Never See Me Again.” However ,within seconds, it is unmistakable that the voice coming out of the speaker is anyone other than Carey pleading with her lover that “I can’t seem to live without your love.” The five-time Grammy winner then leads listeners to the song’s bridge and chorus, which will have those listening thinking of that one special love.
Her five-octave vocal range permeates through the three minute and 42 seconds of the tune showcasing her vast vocal talents. The classic breathy Mariah “whisper” reaches to full on belting ending the song in a crescendo with the high-octane whistle register that has become so paramount in any Carey classic.
Those who had speculated that Carey’s vocals were diminished from her first song, 1990’s “Vision of Love” will assuredly be pleased to notice that her vocals seem as strong as they have ever been. Without question the voice seems rested and ready to return to performing full time.
“You’re Mine (Eternal)” marks a return to form for Carey who had taken some time off from music after giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in April 2011. It is the third official single from her highly anticipated 14th studio album “The Art of Letting Go” which is due for release on May 6.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_facebook type=”standard”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_tweetmeme type=”horizontal”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
