[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Valentine’s Day, the only day of the year when everyone wants to be in a relationship. Most people just want someone to go out with or to spend time with on that day just to say that they had a valentine. Some look at Valentine’s Day as a time to be grateful and appreciative of not just their boyfriend or girlfriend but all of their loved ones. Now remember, Valentine’s Day is not a national holiday and it is only one day, some people fail to realize that. I know it took me a while to understand that.
My Valentine’s Day experiences in the past were terrible to say the least, and I am sad to say that I have never had a valentine. Every year I would confidently tell my friends and myself that this would be the year and I would finally spend Valentine’s Day with some special lady. There were years when I had girlfriends, significant others and highly attractive lady friends that I anticipated spending that day with but some how, some way, we broke up, split ways, or I had too many valentines, didn’t know which one to pick, and, it resulted in not having a valentine.
Too many times on Valentine’s Day I’ve seen affectionate couples enjoying their day together and it would hurt because I was jealous of what they had to the point where I would almost shed a tear. Year after year the saga would continue, and I always found myself at home wishing and hoping that I was with an amazing woman, catering to her, giving her the world, whether it be at McDonalds, KFC, Red Lobster or simply sitting on my porch. I just wanted to say that I had a valentine.
When I think about all the Valentine’s Day failures I had, it hurts and I try to move on but I’ve learned from my experiences and realized that it’s just another day. If you’re not in a relationship and find the need to do something special for someone that you do not have deep feelings for, and if you are in a committed and passionate relationship, Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be the only or first time you do something special for your significant other, you should be doing that everyday.
